John Campbell (cricketer)
John Dillon Campbell (born 21 September 1993) is a Jamaican professional cricketer who made his debut for the Jamaica national team in January 2013. He is a left-handed batsman and right-arm off spin bowler. Early and domestic career From Saint Mary Parish, Campbell played for the West Indies under-19s at the 2012 Under-19 World Cup in Australia. Against England in the fifth-place playoff, he scored 105 from 133 balls, his team's only century at the tournament. Campbell made his senior debut for Jamaica at the 2012–13 Caribbean Twenty20. His first-class and List A debuts came the following season, and he has been a regular in the team since then. Against the Leeward Islands in the 2013–14 Regional Four Day Competition, Campbell scored his maiden first-class century, 110 runs from 180 balls. The England cricket team toured the West Indies between January and March 2019 to play three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The West Indies cricket team toured England to play three Test matches. The team were originally scheduled to tour the country in May and June 2020. However, the series was initially postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cricket West Indies stated that they would do everything they can to help accommodate the fixtures, including moving the fixtures back or even hosting them in the West Indies. The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup was the 12th Cricket World Cup, a quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament contested by men's national teams and organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was hosted between 30 May and 14 July across 10 venues in England and a single venue in Wales with the tournament being the fifth time that England had hosted the World Cup while for Wales it was their third. The tournament was contested by 10 teams, a decrease from 14 teams in the previous edition, with the format of the tournament changing to a single round-robin group with the top four teams qualifying through to the knockout stage. Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). Shai Diego Hope (born 10 November 1993) is a Barbadian cricketer, who plays international cricket for the West Indies cricket team. He is regarded as one of the best ODI batsmen in the contemporary world.
