John Brunning
John Brunning is an English radio presenter, musician and composer. On Classic FM he presents Classic FM Drive. Brunning was born in Essex and from 1970 broadcast pirate radio from his home in Colchester. He learned guitar and played for a time with the successful band Mungo Jerry. In 1986 he began broadcasting on local radio. He is the only Classic FM presenter to have worked on the station continuously since it began broadcasting in 1992. In the course of this association, he has presented the ''Drive'' and ''Chart'' programmes, as well as ''Smooth Classics''. Composition Brunning's 2006 composition, ''Pie Jesu'', was first recorded by the vocal group All Angels, and has since been recorded by several other artistes including the King's Singers (2010). Classic FM (styled as CLASSIC M) is one of the United Kingdom's three Independent National Radio stations and is owned and operated by Global. The station broadcasts classical music and was launched in 1992. Classic FM was the first national classical music station to launch since the opening of BBC Radio 3, 25 years earlier, in September 1967, and 46 years since the opening of Radio 3's predecessor, The Third Programme, in September 1946. Mungo Jerry are a British rock band, formed by Ray Dorset in Ashford, Middlesex in 1970. Experiencing their greatest success in the early 1970s, with a changing lineup always fronted by Ray Dorset, the group's biggest hit was "In the Summertime". They had nine charting singles in the UK, including two number ones, five top 20 hits in South Africa, and four in the Top 100 in Canada. The Hail Mary ( la, Ave Maria) is a traditional Christian prayer addressing Mary, the mother of Jesus. The prayer is based on two biblical passages featured in the Gospel of Luke: the Angel Gabriel's visit to Mary (the Annunciation) and Mary's subsequent visit to Elisabeth, the mother of John the Baptist (the Visitation). The Hail Mary is a prayer of praise for and of petition to Mary, regarded as the Theotokos (Mother of God). Xuefei Yang (; born March 15, 1977) is a People's Republic of China, Chinese classical guitarist. Early years Yang was born in Beijing in 1977, and began playing the guitar when she was seven. Three years later, she started studying under Chen Zhi (guitarist), Chen Zhi, the Chairman of the China Classical Guitar Society. Craig Ogden is an Australian classical guitarist whose albums have topped the UK classical charts. He is Principal Lecturer in Guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. Ogden began playing guitar at the age of seven, and graduated in music from the University of Western Australia. In 1990 he became UK-based, and has a Professional Performance Diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music, where in 2004 he received a Fellowship from the Royal Northern College of Music, becoming the youngest person to be given the honour.
