John Richard Bartlett (27 July 1949 – 8 February 2008) was an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Bartlett was educated in the Hunter Region and attended Newcastle Technical High School (now Merewether High School). He was awarded a BA, Dip. Ed and Dip. T.L by the University of Newcastle. John Kenneth Bartlett (7 December 1945 – 1 May 1986) was a New Zealand plant collector and botanist who specialised in mosses, liverworts, and lichens. John Vernon Bartlett
John Vernon Bartlett (18 June 1927 – 17 November 2021) was a British civil engineer, particularly associated with developments in tunnelling technologies. He was President of the Institution of Civil Engineers from November 1982 to November 1983, and received various industry honours including the Telford and Sir Frank Whittle Medals. John Russell Bartlett (1843–1904) was an American naval officer and oceanographer. Early life Bartlett was born on September 26, 1843 in New York. He was the son of John Russell Bartlett, an ethnologist and Secretary of State of Rhode Island. His mother was Eliza Allen Rhodes. He grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Navy career Bartlett entered the United States Naval Academy in November 1859 and attended the Academy until being transferred to the steam sloop USS ''Brooklyn'' in the early months of the American Civil War. While on board the ''Brooklyn'', he was present during the capture of Forts Jackson and St. Philip in April 1862, the capture of New Orleans a few days later, as well as the Siege of Vicksburg. John Bartlett is a Canadian sportscaster who currently works as a hockey play-by-play announcer on Rogers Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada. John Bartlett (1784–1849) was a minister and co-founder of McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, two of the first hospitals in the United States. John Bartlett was born in Concord, Massachusetts in 1784 as the fourth of twelve children and as a youth was greatly influenced by his local pastor, Dr. Ripley. After working with a relative in commerce in Maine, Bartlett returned to Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard College in 1805. Bartlett then studied theology for two years in Cambridge and then became chaplain of the Boston Almshouse, which cared for poor residents of Boston.
