John Penrose Barron, (27 April 1934 – 16 August 2008) was a British classical scholar. He was Director of the Institute of Classical Studies, University of London from 1984 to 1991, and Master (college), Master of St Peter's College, Oxford, from 1991 to 2003. Early life and education Barron was born on 27 April 1934 in Morley, West Yorkshire, Morley, Yorkshire, England. He was educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, an all-boys Independent school (United Kingdom), independent school in Wakefield, and at Clifton College, then also an all-boys independent school in Bristol. He matriculated into Balliol College, Oxford, in 1953; he had originally intended to study law but was convinced by a college tutor to switch to ''Lit. Hum.'' (Classics). John Barron (actor)
John Barron (24 December 1920 – 3 July 2004) was an English actor. Although Barron was a familiar face on British television from the 1950s, he is best remembered for his role in the BBC comedy ''The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin'' (1976–79) playing C J, Perrin's overbearing boss, later employee. The show also gave Barron the memorable catchphrase, "I didn't get where I am today by...". Biography Born in Marylebone, London, Barron was interested in acting from an early age. For his 18th birthday, his godfather paid his entry fee to RADA. After serving as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, he returned to stage acting. John Salmond Barron (17 February 1879 – 24 July 1908) was a Scottish professional footballer who played in the Scottish League for Dundee as an inside right. He also played in the Southern League for Brentford. Personal life Barron emigrated to the United States in September 1905 and died of electrocution while working on overhead wires in Westfield, New Jersey Westfield is a town in Union County, New Jersey, United States, located southwest of Manhattan. As of the 2010 United States census, the town's population was 30,316, He was buried in Rahway Public Cemetery.

John Barron (hurler)
John Barron (1934–2008) was an Irish sportsman. He played hurling with his local club De La Salle and with the Waterford senior inter-county team from 1954 until 1964. Playing career Club Barron played his club hurling with his local De La Salle club. He never won a senior county title. Inter-county Barron first came to prominence on the inter-county scene in the late 1950s as a member of the Waterford senior hurling team. At this time, however, Tipperary and Cork were the kingpins of Munster hurling, with all the other counties only providing a supporting role. All this changed in 1957 when Barron won his first Munster title following a victory over reigning champions Cork. Waterford later played Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final, however, victory went to the men from Leinster on that occasion. John Daniel Barron (January 26, 1930 – February 24, 2005) was an American journalist and investigative writer. He wrote several books about Soviet espionage via the KGB and other agencies. Early life John Barron was born January 26, 1930, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of a Methodist minister. He graduated from the University of Missouri and studied Russian at the United States Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He served in Berlin as a naval intelligence officer. John Augustus Barron
John Augustus Barron (July 11, 1850 in Toronto (Ontario), Canada West, Canada – January 8, 1936 in Stratford, Ontario) was a Canadian politician and lawyer. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in 1887 as Member of the Liberal Party in the riding of Victoria North. He was re-elected in 1891 but unseated by petition and lost in the riding by-election on February 11, 1892. Prior to his federal experience, he was reeve of Lindsay, Ontario for eight years. He also participated in the Fenian Raids between 1866 and 1871. He also authored numerous books. John Barron (born 8 July 1971) is an Australian journalist and television presenter. He works for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, after having worked previously at the Sydney radio station 2GB as a producer and journalist. Career Barron began his career at Sydney radio station 2GB in 1991, working as a producer for presenters including Malcolm T.
