John Alexander MacDonald (Prince Edward Island Politician)
John Alexander MacDonald (October 21, 1838 – 1905) was a farmer and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He represented 3rd Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1870 to 1900 as a Conservative member. He was born in Bedeque, Prince Edward Island, the son of Angus McDonald. In 1875, he married Annie C. McKelvie. MacDonald was a justice of the peace in Indian River. He served as chairman of the board of railway appraisers and was a governor for Wales' College. He was speaker for the assembly from 1879 to 1891. MacDonald also served as a member of the Executive Council. Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island (PEI; ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is the smallest province in terms of land area and population, but the most densely populated. The island has several nicknames: "Garden of the Gulf", "Birthplace of Confederation" and "Cradle of Confederation". Its capital and largest city is Charlottetown. The Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island (french: Assemblée législative de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard) is the sole chamber of the General Assembly of Prince Edward Island. Adrien F. Arsenault (April 12, 1889 – June 28, 1941) was a lawyer and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 3rd Prince in the Legislative Assembly from 1922 to 1935 as a Conservative. Biography He was born in Egmont Bay, Prince Edward Island, the son of Étienne J. Arsenault and Philomène Pitre, and was educated at the Université Saint-Joseph. He studied law with Albert C. Saunders and practised in the office of MacQuarrie and Arsenault at Summerside. Arsenault was married twice: to Bernice A. MacDonald, the daughter of John Alexander MacDonald, in 1920 and to Ellen MacNeill in 1935.
