John Aalmo
John Aalmo (7 August 1902 – 19 July 1981) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Aure as a son of teacher and mayor Ole Aalmo (1861–1943) and Gjertrud, née Rimstad (1876–1937). He spent most of his career, from 1958 to 1978, in Fosen Trafikklag. He was also a board member here as well as Fosen Aktie Dampskipsselskap. Aalmo served as mayor of Sandstad from 1934 to 1957, and was a member of the county council A county council is the elected administrative body governing an area known as a county. Aure is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the region of Nordmøre. The administrative centre is the village of Aure. Other villages in Aure include Gullstein, Stemshaug, Todalen, Tjeldbergodden, Arasvika, and Tømmervåg. Aure has one of the largest wooden churches in Norway, Aure Church. Fosen Trafikklag is a company operating buses and ferries in Trøndelag and Østlandet in Norway. In total the company has approximately 750 vehicles and 16 ships, though numerous of them operate by subsidiaries. The company merged with Namos Trafikkselskap in 2008 to form FosenNamsos Sjø AS. Fosen Aktie Dampskipsselskap
Fosen is a traditional district in Trøndelag, consisting of the municipalities Osen, Roan Åfjord, Ørland, Indre Fosen, Orkland, Heim, Hitra and Frøya. The district is dominated by forested valleys, lakes, coastal cliffs but also shallow areas, and in the interior mountains reaching up to 675 m elevation. The western coast has many skerries and some islands, such as Stokkøya in Åfjord. There are some good salmon rivers, and sea eagles and other sea birds are very common along the coast, notably on the shallow area near Ørland (''Grandefjæra''). Sandstad (municipality)
Sandstad is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1914 until its dissolution in 1964 when it was merged into what is now Hitra municipality in Trøndelag county. The former municipality of Sandstad included all of the southern and southeastern parts of the island of Hitra, plus the several islands in the Trondheimsleia off the shores of Hitra. The municipality had one church, Sandstad church, located in the village of Sandstad. Sør-Trøndelag () was a county comprising the southern portion of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. It bordered the old Nord-Trøndelag county as well as the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, and Hedmark. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean), and to the east is Jämtland in Sweden.
