Johannes Thingnes Bø
Johannes Thingnes Bø (born 16 May 1993) is a Norwegian biathlete. He is the younger brother of biathlete Tarjei Bø. At the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022, they became the first siblings to have individual medals in the same biathlon event. Thingnes Bø has won the Biathlon World Cup in 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, and 2022/2023. Thingnes Bø is described as being powerful on his skis and is the third most successful male biathlete of all time in the World Cup with 66 individual World Cup victories, including victories at the Winter Olympic Games. Career 2010–2012 Thingnes Bø won several international medals in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he became a junior world champion for the third time. Stryn
Stryn is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Stryn. The municipality is located along the innermost part of the Nordfjorden. Some of the main villages in Stryn include Loen, Innvik, Utvik, Randabygda, Olden, and Flo. The Biathlon World Championships 2019 took place in Östersund, Sweden, from 6 to 17 March 2019. There were a total of 12 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and two mixed relay races. The single mixed relay was on the program of the World Championships for the first time. All the events during this championships also counted for the 2018–19 Biathlon World Cup season. Host selection On 7 September 2014, Östersund won the voting (27 votes) in St. Wolfgang, Austria over Antholz, Italy (16 votes), Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic (4 votes) and Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia (2 votes). The 48th Biathlon World Championships was held in Oslo, Norway from 3 to 13 March 2016. There were 11 competitions in total: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, relay races for men and women, and mixed relay. All the events during this championships also counted towards the Biathlon World Cup. Host selection Oslo was the sole candidate for this championship. Oslo was announced as the host city on 2 September 2012 during the X IBU Congress in Merano, Italy. Two years earlier Oslo lost Biathlon World Championships 2015 to Kontiolahti.
