Johannes Silberschneider (born 13 December 1958 in Styria, Austria), is an Austrian actor. He studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar. He has appeared in many films and TV films and serials. Max Reinhardt Seminar
The Max Reinhardt Seminar (Reinhardt Seminar) is the School of Drama at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. It is located in the Palais Cumberland, Penzingerstraße 9, in Vienna's 14th district (). History A ''Lehrgang für Declamation und Mimik'' (Course in Declamation and Mimics) had been in existence in Vienna since 1852, when Max Reinhardt received a call from the University of Music and Performing Arts in 1929 to create a drama seminar. Initially, this Seminar was taught at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn, the imperial theatre in the Schönbrunn Palace. After Reinhardt's emigration in 1937, the seminar moved to the nearby Palais Cumberland in 1940. From 1948 until 1954, Helene Thimig (Reinhardt's widow) directed the Seminar. The Red Violin
''The Red Violin'' (french: Le Violon Rouge) is a 1998 drama film directed by François Girard and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Carlo Cecchi and Sylvia Chang. It spans four centuries and five countries as it tells the story of a mysterious red-coloured violin and its many owners. The instrument, made in Cremona in 1681 with a future forecast by tarot cards, makes its way to Montreal in 1997, where an appraiser identifies it and it goes to auction. The film was an international co-production among companies in Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The screenplay was written by Don McKellar, who also acts, and Girard, inspired by a historic 1720 Stradivarius violin nicknamed the "Red Mendelssohn". ''Mahler on the Couch'' (german: Mahler auf der Couch) is a 2010 German film directed by Percy Adlon and Felix Adlon. It is an historical drama depicting an affair between Alma Mahler and Walter Gropius, and the subsequent psychoanalysis of Mahler's husband Gustav Mahler by Sigmund Freud. Historical accuracy The affair between Alma Mahler and Walter Gropius did occur, and Gustav Mahler did consult Freud. Alma did marry Gropius several years after Gustav's death. Ty Burr pointed out in his review of the film, "No one actually knows what Mahler and Freud talked about in their meeting." Jeffrey Gantz made much the same point. The film focuses on Gustav Mahler's demand that Alma give up her own artistic efforts (composing songs) to live a more traditional life as a wife and mother, and on the stress this caused in their marriage. ''Luisa Sanfelice'' is a 2004 Italian historical film directed by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. It stars Laetitia Casta and was co-produced between Italy and France. It is an adaptation of a book by Alexandre Dumas. Plot The film is about the life of Luisa Sanfelice, a young member of the Neapolitan nobility who is in love with a republican, Salvato Palmieri. In the wake of the French Revolution a Napoleonic army led by general Jean-Étienne Championnet enters in Naples. Horatio Nelson receives the duty to organise the exile of King Ferdinand to Palermo. Johannes Kleiman (17 August 1896 – 28 January 1959) was one of the Dutch residents who helped hide Anne Frank and her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. In the published version of Frank's diary, ''Het Achterhuis'', known in English as '' The Diary of a Young Girl'', he is given the pseudonym Mr. Koophuis. In some later publications of the diary, the pseudonym was removed (just like the other protectors' pseudonyms), and Kleiman was referred to by his real name. Kleiman was born in Koog aan de Zaan, the Netherlands and met Otto Frank in 1923, when he was trying to establish a branch of the Michael Frank Bank in Amsterdam. Kleiman was registered as a proxy for the bank in May 1924 and given full powers in December of that year when the bank went into liquidation.
