Johannes Leak
Johannes Leak (born 25 October 1980) is a German-born Australian editorial cartoonist. Life He is the son of cartoonist Bill Leak and Astrid. He lived in Dießen am Ammersee before moving to Australia. He attended Sydney Boys High School and then Julian Ashton Art School for five years on a scholarship. Leak's August 2020 cartoon of Kamala Harris, the presumptive 2020 Democratic Party vice presidential candidate selection, Democratic vice presidential nominee in the 2020 United States presidential election, 2020 election was deemed as offensive and racist by a number of politicians and journalists. The cartoon had used Joe Biden's use of the phrase "little brown girls". In February 2021, Leak was awarded a $40,000 contract from the Australian parliamentary department#Department of Parliamentary Services, Australian Department of Parliamentary Services to paint an official portrait of former prime minister Tony Abbott. Bill Leak
Desmond Robert "Bill" Leak (9 January 1956 – 10 March 2017) was an Australian editorial cartoonist, caricaturist and portraitist. Raised in Condobolin and Beacon Hill, Sydney, Leak attended Julian Ashton Art School during the 1970s. His cartoons were first published in 1983 in '' The Bulletin'' and after he drew for ''The Sydney Morning Herald'' until 1994, when he was recruited by News Limited to contribute to '' The Daily Telegraph-Mirror'' and later to ''The Australian''. As an artist and illustrator, Leak was acclaimed by journalist Peter FitzSimons as "colossally talented, driven, and passionate for his craft". Leak entered paintings into the Archibald on several occasions, having won the People's Choice Award in 1994 for his portrait of Malcolm Turnbull and the Packing Room Prize twice, in 1997 and 2000 for his portraits of Tex Perkins and Sir Les Patterson respectively. Anthony John Abbott (; born 4 November 1957) is a former Australian politician who served as the 28th prime minister of Australia from 2013 to 2015.
