Johan Evenepoel
Johan Evenepoel (Ninove, 25 January 1965) is a Belgian composer. Johan Evenepoel was educated at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, where he won several first prizes. After he graduated he worked for a while for the Belgian Army Orchestra of the Grenadiers. He currently teaches clarinet at several musical academies in Halle, Lennik and Brakel. Evenepoel has composed some eighty works, most are for wind orchestras like brass band, fanfare and wind band. Ninove
Ninove () is a city and municipality located in the Flemish province of East Flanders in Belgium. It is situated on the river Dender, and is part of the Denderstreek. The municipality comprises the city of Ninove proper and since the 1976 merger of the towns of , , , , Meerbeke, , , , , and . On 1 January 2018 Ninove had a total population of 38,692. The total area is 72.57 km2 which gives a population density of 533 inhabitants per km2. History The oldest version of the name "Ninove", ''Neonifus'' dates from the 9th century. Later versions of the city name were ''Ninive'' and ''Nineve''. The current version of the city name dates from the 14th century. The origin of the city name is not clear. Fanfare
A fanfare (or fanfarade or flourish) is a short musical flourish which is typically played by trumpets, French horns or other brass instruments, often accompanied by percussion. It is a "brief improvised introduction to an instrumental performance". A fanfare has also been defined in ''The Golden Encyclopedia of Music'' as "a musical announcement played on brass instruments before the arrival of an important person", such as heralding the entrance of a monarch; (The term honors music for such announcements does not have the specific connotations of instrument or style that ''fanfare'' does.) Brakel, Belgium
Brakel () is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders in the Denderstreek and the Flemish Ardennes. The name is derived from a Carolingian villa ''Braglo'' first mentioned in 866 and located in the center of Opbrakel.
