Joey Kelly
Joseph Maria Kelly (born 20 December 1972) is a musician, songwriter, and athlete of Irish-American descent. Kelly became known as a member of the Kelly Family, however, during the band's hiatus, he appeared primarily as an amateur athlete and participated in various sport competitions. Kelly returned to the Kelly Family as a drummer and vocalist in 2017. As a member of the Kelly family, he plays electric and acoustic guitar and percussion instruments. Sports enthusiast Kelly often participates in endurance competitions and fun events, such as ''TV total'', Wok racing or diving. Kelly has admitted he looks like "an entirely unrelated Joey Kelly" during these appearances. The 4 Deserts Ultramarathon Series is an annual series of four 250-kilometer (155-mile) races across deserts around the globe. The Kelly Family is an Irish-American music group consisting of a multi-generational family, usually nine siblings who were joined occasionally on stage in their earlier years by their parents. The Race Across America, or RAAM, is an ultra-distance road cycling race held across the United States that started in 1982 as the Great American Bike Race. RAAM is one of the longest annual endurance events in the world. All entrants must prove their abilities by competing in any of several qualifying events, completing a course within a specified time period. In length the RAAM is comparable to the Tour de France, but the races differ to a great extent. The courses of both races have varied over the years. However, in the Race Across America, the direction has always been from the west coast to the east coast of the United States, approximately 3,000 miles (4,800 km), making it a transcontinental event. Tough Guy Competition
The Tough Guy Competition was an endurance challenge that claims to be the world's most demanding one-day survival ordeal. First staged in 1987 and organised by Billy Wilson under the pseudonym of "Mr. Mouse", it is held on a 600-acre (2.42 square km) farm in the English village of Perton, Staffordshire. It has been described as "the toughest race in the world", with up to one-third of the starters failing to finish in a typical year. After 27 stagings of the winter event, Wilson still claimed nobody had ever finished the course according to his extremely demanding rules. The race, and its summer equivalent, has suffered two fatalities during its history.
