Joe Winkelsas
Joseph Winkelsas (born September 14, 1973) is a former right-handed professional baseball pitcher. He pitched parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball. Amateur career Winkelsas started his college career in 1992 at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, a small NJCAA school in Allendale, South Carolina. While at USC Salkehatchie, he led the NJCAA Division II in ERA his sophomore season. After completing two years at USC Salkehatchie, he then went on to Elon University. Professional career Atlanta Braves Winkelsas signed with the Atlanta Braves as an amateur free agent in 1996. He began his professional career that season with the minor league Danville Braves, and over the next three years he worked his way through the Braves' farm system. The Somerset Patriots are an American Minor League Baseball team based in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, that is the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is a professional independent baseball league based in the United States. It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. Richmond Braves
The Richmond Braves were an American minor league baseball club based in Richmond, Virginia, the Triple-A International League affiliate of the Atlanta Braves from 1966 to 2008. Owned by the parent Atlanta club and colloquially referred to as the R-Braves, they played their home games at a stadium called The Diamond on Richmond's Northside built for them in 1985, and before then Parker Field on the same site. The Mississippi Braves, or M-Braves as they are referred to locally, are a Minor League Baseball team based in Pearl, Mississippi, a suburb of Jackson. The Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, commonly known as the Can-Am League, was a professional, independent baseball league with teams in the Northeast United States and Eastern Canada, founded in 2005 as a reorganization of its predecessor, the Northeast League.
