Joe Thomas (producer)
Joseph Thomas (born ) is an American producer, director, businessman, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter based in Illinois. He is known for musical collaborations and subsequent lawsuits pertaining to musician-songwriter Brian Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys. Thomas was producer and director of the PBS music program ''Soundstage'' for WTTW. He also wrestling, wrestled under the name Buddy Love. ''Stars and Stripes Vol. 1'' In the mid 1990s, Thomas was enlisted to co-produce the Beach Boys' ''Stars and Stripes Vol. 1'', an album consisting of country music stars covering Beach Boys songs. Beach Boy Mike Love says it was Thomas who suggested the idea of a country album, and it was released on River North Records, the label he had been running. River North Records
River North Records was a Chicago-based Sound recording and reproduction, record company. It was a subsidiary of Platinum Entertainment. History River North Records was created by Steve Devick in 1994. It was named and created after River North Studios, which was also created by Devick. The single, "I Want to Be Like Mike" (in reference to Michael Jordan) was recorded for River North in 1991, based on a very popular commercial jingle created by Devick for Gatorade. Contracts In 1993, River North Records signed a deal with vocalist Peter Cetera to record some of Cetera's albums. The albums were released in 1994. Peter Ames Carlin (born March 13, 1963) is an American journalist, critic and biographer who has written for publications such as ''People'' magazine, ''The New York Times Magazine'', '' The Los Angeles Times Magazine'', and ''The Oregonian''. Auto-tune
Auto-Tune (or autotune) is an audio processor introduced in 1996 by American company Antares Audio Technologies. Auto-Tune uses a proprietary device to measure and alter pitch in vocal and instrumental music recording and performances. Auto-Tune was originally intended to disguise or correct off-key inaccuracies, allowing vocal tracks to be perfectly tuned despite originally being slightly off-pitch. The 1998 Cher song " Believe" popularized the technique of using Auto-Tune to distort vocals. In 2018, the music critic Simon Reynolds observed that Auto-Tune had "revolutionized popular music", calling its use for effects "the fad that just wouldn't fade. Steven Robert Dahl (born November 20, 1954) is an American radio personality. He is the owner and operator of the Steve Dahl Network, a subscription-based podcasting network. Dahl gained a measure of national attention after organizing and hosting Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park. Originally, Dahl broadcast with Detroit stations WABX and WWWW and later with Chicago stations WCKG, WDAI, WLUP, WMVP and WLS. ''Imagination'' is the third solo album by American musician Brian Wilson. It was issued in 1998 on Giant Records and distributed by Warner Music Group. The album received mixed reviews upon its release and its commercial performance was relatively weak. Its best-known track is " Your Imagination", a Top 20 hit on adult contemporary radio. Melinda Kae Wilson (née Ledbetter, born October 3, 1946) is an American talent manager who is the second wife and longtime manager of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.
