Joe Selenski
Joe Selenski (born 1955) is a former minor league ice hockey, hockey coach and general manager. Atlantic Coast Hockey League Selenski got his start as a coach and general manager with the Troy Slapshots of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. The Slapshots would see limited action in the ACHL, playing only six games before being suspended by ACHL Commissioner Ray Miron. Shortly after the leaguewide dispersal draft, the Mohawk Valley Comets would fire their coach (Bill Horton) and replace him with Selenski, who assumed the dual role of coach and general manager. The Comets would go 22-22-3 under Selenski and make the playoffs. However, the Comets would eventually lose to the Virginia Lancers four games to three in the Payne Trophy Finals. After the completion of the 1986-87 ACHL season, the Comets transferred to the AHL and were later rebranded as the Utica Devils, and the ACHL was folded by Commissioner Ray Miron. Bill Huard
William John Huard (born June 24, 1967) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League between 1992 and 1999 with six teams. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1988 to 2000, was spent in different minor leagues. Career Huard had a professional career of over 600 games, including parts of seven seasons at the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, Quebec Nordiques, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings. Huard moved to the United Kingdom in 2000 to play in the British Ice Hockey Superleague for the London Knights but left the team after playing just one game to return to Canada to be with his girlfriend who was seven months pregnant at the time. Steven Edward Carlson (born August 26, 1955) is an American former NHL professional ice hockey forward and a former minor league hockey coach. Biography Carlson was born in Virginia, Minnesota. He appeared in the movie '' Slap Shot'' as one of the three Hanson Brothers, who were based on Carlson and his brothers and teammates.Sports Illustrated, July 2, 2007, p.106 Carlson played in the World Hockey Association with the New England Whalers, Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Fighting Saints and in the National Hockey League for the Los Angeles Kings, scoring nine goals for the Kings. While playing for the Edmonton Oilers in the WHA, he was the roommate of Wayne Gretzky during his rookie season. The Johnstown Chiefs were an American professional ice hockey team based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. They played in the East Coast Hockey League (eventually shortened to ECHL). The franchise was originally established in January 1988 as a member of the All-American Hockey League. In June 1988, the franchise would become one of the five new franchises of the ECHL. Since their foundation in 1988, the Chiefs have played their home games at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. The Chiefs were last owned by former New York Rangers general manager Neil Smith. Scott Allen (ice Hockey)
Scott Allen (born April 6, 1966, in New Bedford, Massachusetts) is a retired professional ice hockey center and a former assistant coach of the New York Islanders and Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League. He is currently an assistant coach for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Allen started his career with the Troy Sabres of the All-American Hockey League in 1986. He was then traded to the Carolina Thunderbirds during the 1986–87 season. Allen stayed with the team for four seasons as they made their move from the AAHL to the ECHL and changed their name from the Carolina Thunderbirds to the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds. Kelly Cup
The Patrick J. Kelly Cup goes to the playoff champion of the ECHL. The Kelly Cup has been awarded to teams since 1997. Prior to 1997, the playoff winner was awarded the Riley Cup, named after former American Hockey League president Jack Riley. The current cup is named after Patrick J. Kelly, the league's first commissioner. The cup is loaned to the winning team for one year and is returned at the start of the following year's playoffs, although the trophy itself has been replaced three times with the first two iterations preserved in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
