Joe Oliver (baseball Player)
Joseph Melton Oliver (born July 24, 1965) is an American former professional baseball catcher and current manager of the Frederick Keys of the MLB Draft League, a collegiate summer league partner of Major League Baseball (MLB). During a 19-year professional playing career, Oliver played parts of 13 seasons in MLB for seven different teams during 1989–2001, and was a member of the World Series-winning 1990 Cincinnati Reds. He later managed in Minor League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox organization from 2014 through 2020. In 2021, Oliver managed the Bluefield Ridge Runners of the Appalachian League, another collegiate summer league team. As a player, Oliver was listed at and ; he batted and threw right-handed. Nashville Sounds
The Nashville Sounds are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Frederick Keys
The Frederick Keys are a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft League. The Keys are based in Frederick, Maryland. The franchise is named for "Star-Spangled Banner" writer Francis Scott Key, a native of Frederick County. A new team mascot "Frank Key", short for Francis Scott Key, joined the current mascot, a coyote named ''Keyote'', at the beginning of the 2011 baseball season. The Keys were purchased from Maryland Baseball Holding, LLC by Attain Sports and Entertainment in January 2022. Home games are played at Harry Grove Stadium. ABCA/Rawlings High School All-America Second Team
The ABCA/Rawlings High School All-America Baseball Team has been named every year since 1969, with the exceptions of 1993 and 2020. Between 1971–1975 and in 2000, only one team was selected per year. In 1969–1970, 1976 and 1987, two teams were selected per year. Ron Karkovice
Ronald Joseph Karkovice (born August 8, 1963) is an American former professional baseball catcher. Drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 1st round of the 1982 MLB amateur draft, Karkovice would make his Major League Baseball debut with the Chicago White Sox on August 17, 1986, and appeared in his final game on September 26, 1997. He was called "Officer Ron Karkovice" by White Sox broadcaster Ken "Hawk" Harrelson due to Karkovice's great defensive prowess in throwing out baserunner attempting to steal bases. Early life When Karkovice was seven years old, his family moved to Florida after his father, who worked for United Airlines, was transferred. He began playing baseball in Little League at age eight.
