Joe Lake
Joseph Henry Lake (January 6, 1881 – June 30, 1950) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball from 1908 to 1913. He played for the New York Highlanders, St. Louis Browns, and Detroit Tigers. Lake made his major league debut on April 21, 1908; his final game was five years later on August 25, 1913. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Minneapolis Millers were an American professional minor league baseball team that played in Minneapolis, Minnesota, through 1960. In the 19th century a different Minneapolis Millers were part of the Western League. The team played first in Athletic Park and later Nicollet Park.
