Joe King ( – ) was an American actor of silent films and talkies as well as a director and writer. Biography King was born in Austin, Texas as Joseph Sayer King and acted in 211 films from 1912 to 1946. He appeared in his later years mainly in minor, uncredited roles. He directed two films, both in 1916 and wrote one script in 1915. Joe King was married to actress Hazel Buckham and he died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. Joseph Hillström King (born June 4, 1972), better known by the pen name Joe Hill, is an American writer. Joseph Aaron King (born May 25, 1980) is an American musician who is the guitarist, singer, songwriter, and co-founder of Denver-based rock band The Fray. Early life Joe King was born on May 25, 1980, in Colorado. He attended Faith Christian Academy in Arvada, Colorado. Before his success with the Fray, King attended school while he worked as an auto damage appraiser. He learned to play the piano at an early age, but later dropped it and started playing the guitar instead. He states that it was because "the coolest guys in my eighth grade class all played guitar. The Queers
The Queers are an American punk rock band, formed in 1981 by the Portsmouth, New Hampshire native Joseph “Joe” P. King (a.k.a. Joe Queer) along with Scott Gildersleeve (a.k.a. Tulu), and John “Jack” Hayes (a.k.a. Wimpy Rutherford). With the addition of Keith Hages (ex-guitarist of Berlin Brats) joining on bass in 1983 the band started playing their first public performances. This original lineup played a total of 5-6 live shows. The original lineup of The Queers initially broke up in late 1984, but reformed with Joe Queer and a new line-up in 1986. Movietone News is a newsreel that ran from 1928 to 1963 in the United States. Under the name British Movietone News, it also ran in the United Kingdom from 1929 to 1986, in France also produced by Fox-Europa, in Australia and New Zealand until 1970, and Germany as Fox Tönende Wochenschau. History Movietone News evolved from an earlier newsreel established by Fox Films called Fox News which was founded in 1919. It produced silent newsreels. Joe King was a fictional character in a comic strip in the UK comic ''The Beano''. He first appeared in ''The Beano'' in issue 2783, dated 18 November 1995. His name was a pun on "Joking." Joe wore a big red cap with a wavy bit going up, and would tell jokes sent in by ''Beano'' readers, who would originally win a '' Dennis the Menace'' cycle helmet if their joke were published. Later on came Joe's Joke Corner which would occupy a corner of the page (usually Billy Whizz and Crazy for Daisy), again featuring jokes from ''Beano'' readers, as did Anyone Got Any Jokes? from 2001, and also Joe King's Top 40 Joke Box. ''Flight of the Amazon Queen'' is a graphical point-and-click adventure game by Interactive Binary Illusions, originally released in 1995 for Amiga and MS-DOS. The game was re-released as freeware in 2004 for use with ScummVM. In January 2022, a sequel was announced, titled '' Return of the Amazon Queen''.
