Joe Kadenge
Joe Kadenge (16 March 1935 – 7 July 2019) was a Kenyan association football, football player and coach. Farayi Mungazi, writing for the BBC, has said that he is "regarded as the finest footballer ever produced by Kenya." Playing career A winger (association football), winger, Kadenge played for Maragoli United FC, Maragoli United, and scored the fastest ever goal in the Kenyan Premier League. He also played club football for AFC Leopards, Abaluhya United, winning the Kenyan Premier League in 1966. In addition, Kadenge was part of the Kenya national football team. Coaching career Kadenge managed the Kenya national football team in 2002. 1968 While playing for Abaluhya FC he coached Tiriki Football Club with Antony Mukabwa. In 1975 he left Abaluhya Football Club and rejoined Maragoli United FC as a player. He played briefly then retired. He was appointed the Team Manager of the club. The Maragoli, or Logoli (''Ava-Logooli''), are now the second-largest ethnic group of the 6 million-strong Luhya nation in Kenya, numbering around 2.1 million, or 15% of the Luhya people according to the last Kenyan census. Their language is called Logoli, Lulogooli, Ululogooli, or Maragoli. The name Maragoli probably emerged later on after interaction of the people with missionaries of the Quaker Church. Maragoli also refers to the area that the descendants of a man called Mulogooli (also known as Maragoli) settled and occupied in the thirteenth century AD in the vast lands of vihiga county. Kenya National Football Team
The Kenya national football team represents Kenya in international football. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation, the governing body football in Kenya, and competes as a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), a sub-confederation of CAF that has jurisdiction in East and Central Africa. Kenyan Premier League
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL), officially known as the FKF Premier League and as the BetKing Premier League (BPL) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs in Kenya. Standing at the top of the Kenyan football league system, the league was formed in 1963 under the Kenya Football Federation but is now controlled by the Football Kenya Federation.
