Joe Jordan (hurler)
Joseph Jordan (born 1987) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Premier Championship club Blarney. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for one season, during which time he usually lined out as a right wing-back. Jordan began his hurling career at club level with Blarney. After breaking onto the club's top adult team he had one of his greatest successes as right wing-back on Blarney's All-Ireland Intermediate Club Championship-winning team in 2009. He was also selected for University College Cork, with whom he won a Fitzgibbon Cup title in 2009, and the Muskerry divisional team. At inter-county level, Jordan was part of the Cork minor team that won the Munster Championship in 2005 before later winning an All-Ireland Championship with the intermediate team in 2009. He also joined the Cork senior team in 2009. Jordan was an unused substitute before leaving the panel at the end of the season. Blarney () is a suburban town within the administrative area of Cork City in Ireland. It is located approximately north-west of the city centre. Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Munster Hurling Intermediate Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1961 for the strong hurling teams in the province of Munster in Ireland. In some cases the teams consist of players who are not on the senior squads for their county (thus in effect, they are a second team), or in others of players who are from junior or intermediate clubs. The competition was established to prevent the stronger counties from dominating the Munster Junior Hurling Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played in July. The prize for the winning team is the Sweet Afton Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the series. 2008 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2008 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the fifth staging of the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 2004. The championship began on 3 May 2008 and ended on 19 October 2008. On 20 July 2008, Aghada were relegated from the championship following a 1-17 to 2-7 defeat by Argideen Rangers. On 19 October 2008, Blarney won the championship following a 0-13 to 1-9 defeat of Courcey Rovers in the final. This was their first championship title in the grade. Ger O'Leary from the Fr. The Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is the most prestigious competition for intermediate clubs in Munster hurling. The Munster Intermediate Club Championship was introduced in 2003.
