Joe Horgan
Joseph Paul Horgan (born June 7, 1977) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. Career Horgan was born in Sacramento, California. He played at Sacramento City College and graduated from Cordova High School (Rancho Cordova,California), Cordova High School. He appeared in 47 games for the Montreal Expos in the season as a relief pitcher and had a record of 4–1 with an Earned run average, ERA of 3.15. He briefly played for the Washington Nationals during the season. He played his final season for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes of the Pacific Coast League. In baseball and softball, a relief pitcher or reliever is a pitcher who enters the game after the starting pitcher is removed because of fatigue (medical), fatigue, ineffectiveness, injury, or ejection (sports), ejection, or for other strategic reasons, such as inclement weather delays or pinch hitter substitutions. Relief pitchers are further divided informally into various roles, such as Closer (baseball), closers, setup men, middle relief pitchers, left-handed specialist, left/right-handed specialists, and long relievers.
