Ralph Fenton "Joe" Dawson (March 9, 1897 – January 4, 1978) was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played for four seasons starting at the age of 27. He played for the Cleveland Indians in 1924 and the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1927 to 1929. He was born in Bow, Washington Bow is an unincorporated community in Skagit County, Washington. Joe Dawson (Hebrew: ג'ו דאוסן; born May 16, 1960) is an American-Israeli former professional basketball player. He played high school basketball at Druid High School in his native Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and played four years of college basketball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, leading the team in scoring and rebounding multiple times and was an all-conference selection. After going undrafted in the 1982 NBA draft, he started his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association, and was selected as an all-star in each of the three seasons he played there. After a brief experience in the USBL he moved abroad, playing in Venezuela and France (where he was the LNB Pro A top scorer). In 1987 he had his first experience in the Israeli league with Hapoel Holon: he would play in Israel for 14 seasons, leading the league in both scoring and rebounding in 1992. Joseph Crook Dawson (July 17, 1889 - June 17, 1946) was an American race car driver. Biography He was born in Odon, Indiana on July 17, 1889. Dawson competed in the Indianapolis 500 race three times, beginning in 1911 when he drove a Marmon to a fifth-place finish. The following year, Dawson won after Ralph DePalma, who had led for 196 laps of the 200 lap race, dropped out with a mechanical failure.
