Joe D. Montgomery
Joe D. Montgomery (January 28, 1918 – October 5, 2013) was an American politician, educator, and businessman. Born in Floydada, Texas, he served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He graduated from Colorado State University. Montgomery went to San Francisco, California and then moved to Anchorage, Alaska where he was an educator, principal, and superintendent of the Anchorage Public Schools. He also owned an automobile agency. He served two terms as a Republican in the Alaska House of Representatives The Alaska State House of Representatives is the lower house in the Alaska Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Alaska. The House is composed of 40 members, each of whom represents a district of approximately 17,756 people per ... from 1979 to 1983. He died in Anchorage, Alaska.

Anchorage School District
The Anchorage School District (ASD) manages all public schools within the Municipality of Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is the 107th largest school district in the United States, serving over 45,000 students in more than 90 schools. Operations The district includes all of Anchorage municipality. District superintendent Carol Comeau, appointed in December 2000, retired June 30, 2012. She was succeeded by Jim Browder. After eight months, Jim Browder resigned and was replaced by Ed Graff; later in 2015 Ed Graff was replaced by Deena Bishop (formerly Deena Paramo), previously the Superintendent of Matsu Valley School District. Bishop resigned at the end of the 2022 school term and was replaced by Jharrett Bryantt.
