Joe Browne
Joseph Thomas Browne (born March 6, 1947) ended a 50-year career at the National Football League office on March 31, 2016, as the longest-serving employee ever in that office. After his retirement, Browne was honored twice by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He received the prestigious Ralph Hay Pioneer Award in August 2016. The Award is presented periodically by the Hall to a person who has made significant and innovative contributions to pro football. In 2022, Browne also was honored as a member of the Charter Class for the Hall’s new “Awards of Excellence” program. This award was given in recognition of outstanding contributions to pro football’s growth, safety, popularity and its overall success on the field and behind the scenes. Alvin Ray "Pete" Rozelle (; March 1, 1926 – December 6, 1996) was an American businessman and executive. Rozelle served as the commissioner of the National Football League (NFL) for nearly thirty years, from January 1960 until his retirement in November 1989. He is credited with making the NFL into one of the most successful sports leagues in the world. Paul John Tagliabue (; born November 24, 1940) is an American lawyer who was the History of the NFL Commissioner, commissioner of the National Football League (NFL).
