Joe Alves
Joseph Manuel Alves (born May 21, 1936) is an American film production designer, perhaps best known for his work on ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind'' and the first three films of the Jaws (franchise), ''Jaws'' franchise. He directed the third installment ''Jaws 3-D''. Career Alves has designed three features for Steven Spielberg, firstly for ''The Sugarland Express''. He designed the three mechanical sharks for the movie ''Jaws'' (1975) with mechanical effects man Bob Mattey supervising their physical construction in Sun Valley CA. San Leandro (Spanish for " St. Leander") is a city in Alameda County, California, United States. It is located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area; between Oakland to the northwest, and Ashland, Castro Valley, and Hayward to the southeast. The 4th Golden Raspberry Awards were held on April 8, 1984, at Third Street Elementary School in Los Angeles, California, to recognize the worst the movie industry had to offer in 1983. 3-D Film
3D films are motion pictures made to give an illusion of three-dimensional solidity, usually with the help of special glasses worn by viewers. They have existed in some form since 1915, but had been largely relegated to a niche in the motion picture industry because of the costly hardware and processes required to produce and display a 3D film, and the lack of a standardized format for all segments of the entertainment business.
