Jody Wright
Jody Wright (born July 21, 1981) is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach at Murray State. He played college football for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks and has coached them, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, UAB Blazers, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, and South Carolina Gamecocks. Early life Wright was born on July 21, 1981, and grew up in Ethelsville, Alabama. He attended Pickens Academy in Carrollton, Alabama, and played football there under his father who was the head coach. He helped them win state championships in 1996, 1998 and 1999 while playing running back; he was named an all-state player in his last two years. Carrollton, Alabama
Carrollton is a city in and the county seat of Pickens County, Alabama, United States. At the 2010 census the population was 1,019, up from 987 in 2000. The Pickens County Courthouse in the center of Carrollton was erected in 1877. The first courthouse in Carrollton was burned on April 5, 1865 by troops of Union General John T. Croxton. Sylvester Croom
Sylvester Croom Jr. (born September 25, 1954) is a retired American football coach. He was the head coach at Mississippi State University from 2004 to 2008, and the first African American head football coach in the Southeastern Conference. His father, Sylvester Croom Sr., was himself an All-American football player at Alabama A&M, later the team chaplain at the University of Alabama, and has been recognized by that school as one of the state's 40 pioneers of civil rights. After his time at Mississippi State, Croom Jr. served as running backs coach for three teams in the National Football League. Jacksonville State University (JSU) is a public university in Jacksonville, Alabama.
