Jock Madden
Jock Madden (born 7 March 2000) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League (NRL). He previously played for the Wests Tigers in the NRL. Background Madden played his junior rugby league for the Scone Thoroughbreds. He is a great-nephew of Australian representative Don Adams. In 2018, Madden represented and Captained the Australian Schoolboys while attending All Saints College, Maitland. Career 2021 Madden made his debut in round 10 of the 2021 NRL season for the Wests Tigers against the Newcastle Knights. 2022 Madden played a total of 14 games for the Wests Tigers in the 2022 NRL season as the club claimed the Wooden Spoon for the first time. Scone, New South Wales
Scone is a town in the Upper Hunter Shire in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2006 census, Scone had a population of 5,624 people. It is on the New England Highway north of Muswellbrook about 270 kilometres north of Sydney, and is part of the New England (federal) and Upper Hunter (state) electorates. Scone is in a farming area and is also noted for breeding Thoroughbred racehorses. It is known as the 'Horse capital of Australia'. History Allan Cunningham was the first recorded European person to travel into the Scone area, reaching the Upper Dartbrook and Murrurundi areas in 1823. The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). 2023 NRL Grand Final
The 2023 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2023 National Rugby League season in Australia. It was contested between the Penrith Panthers and the Brisbane Broncos on Sunday the 1st of October at Accor Stadium in Sydney. Penrith, who were the two-time defending premiers and the defending minor premiers, won the match 26–24 to claim their fifth premiership title, and became the first club in forty years to win three consecutive first-grade premierships following the Parramatta Eels in 1983.
