Jochen Ulrich
Jochen Ulrich (3 August 1944 – 10 November 2012) was a German choreographer and dancer. About Ulrich was born in Osterode am Harz. After studying at the Cologne Institute for Stage Dance from 1964 to 1967, Ulrich made his debut as a dancer at the Cologne Opera in 1967. By 1970, his choreographic works were already attracting national attention. Osterode am Harz, often simply called Osterode (; Eastphalian dialect, Eastphalian: ''Ostroe''), is a town in south-eastern Lower Saxony, Niedersachsen on the south-western edge of the Harz mountains. Jochen Schmidt (dance Critic)
Jochen Schmidt (22 September 1936 – 10 October 2010) was a German journalist and book author, especially as a dance theatre expert. He became known through more than 30 years as a critic in the '' Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung'', reviewing also non-fiction books on dance and crime novels, and working for other papers and broadcasters. He closely watched Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wuppertal, and published a biography of her. He wrote a book about the history of dance in the 20th century, observing mainly European, but also international innovations. Life and work Schmidt was born in Borken. The Cologne Opera (German: Oper der Stadt Köln or Oper Köln) refers both to the main opera house in Cologne, Germany and to its resident opera company. The Bruckner Orchester Linz is an Austrian orchestra based in Linz. Dennis Russell Davies (born April 16, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American conductor and pianist, He is currently the music director and chief conductor of the Brno Philharmonic. Biography Davies studied piano and conducting at the Juilliard School, where he received his doctorate. He was Music Director of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra from 1972 to 1980. In 1977 he co-founded the American Composers Orchestra with composer Francis Thorne, and he was its music director until 2002. Davies was music director of the Brooklyn Philharmonic from 1991 to 1996. In 1980, Davies moved to Stuttgart, Germany, where he was General Music Director of the Baden-Württemberg State Opera House from 1980 to 1987.
