Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson
Jocelyne Nicole Lamoureux-Davidson (born July 3, 1989) is a former American ice hockey player, author, gender equity advocate, and co-founder of the Lamoureux Foundation. She scored the game-winning shootout goal to win the gold medal for Team USA at the 2018 Winter Olympics against Canada after her twin sister Monique tied the game near the end of regulation. Lamoureux-Davidson also won silver medals for the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. Lamoureux played one season of NCAA hockey for the University of Minnesota and three for the University of North Dakota. She competed for a year with the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association, a worker's union pushing for equality in the sport, and retired from playing in 2021. Grand Forks, North Dakota
Grand Forks is the third-largest city in the state of North Dakota (after Fargo and Bismarck) and the county seat of Grand Forks County. 2012 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2012 IIHF World Women's Championships was the 14th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation and took place in Vermont, United States, at the Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, and the Cairns Arena in South Burlington. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2013 competition, and the 2014 Olympics. The Top Division was contested between eight teams from April 7 to April 14, 2012, in Burlington and was hosted by USA Hockey. Canada won their tenth title by defeating the United States 5–4 in overtime. Caroline Ouellette scored the decisive goal. Minnesota State Mavericks Women's Ice Hockey
The Minnesota State Mavericks women's hockey ice program represents Minnesota State University, Mankato, and participate in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. History In October 2010, Kathleen Rogan registered a hat trick as the Mavericks defeated No. 6-ranked North Dakota by a 4–2 margin. This was the Mavericks first hat trick since Ashley Young registered one against Bemidji State in 2008. In 2018 and 2019, the Mavericks played in the Women's Face-Off Classic game hosted by the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum. Sidney Patrick Crosby (born August 7, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre and captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization dedicated to advocating for the promotion of professional women's ice hockey.
