Jocasta (comics)
Jocasta Pym is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually involving the Avengers. Publication history Jocasta first appears in '' The Avengers'' #162 (Aug. 1977) and was created by Jim Shooter and George Pérez. Jocasta appeared as a supporting character in ''Avengers Academy'' #1-21 (Aug. 2010-Jan. 2012) and made sporadic appearances throughout the remainder of the series, appearing regularly again in ''Avengers Academy'' #34-39 (Oct. 2012-Jan. 2013). Fictional character biography Jocasta was built by the robot Ultron in an abandoned aerospace research center in Nassau, Long Island, New York, in order that Ultron might have a mate. To better allow this robot sentience, Ultron based her mind and brain patterns on the Wasp (Janet van Dyne). The Unstoppable Wasp
''The Unstoppable Wasp'' is an ongoing American comic book series published by Marvel Comics featuring Nadia van Dyne, Nadia van Dyne (née Pym). The solo series initially debuted in January 2017 and ran for 8 issues as a part of Marvel NOW! 2.0, before relaunching in October 2018 for another run of 10 issues. The series were written by Jeremy Whitley. Art was by Elsa Charretier from the start of the publication until the second run, which Gurihiru took over as artist for. In May 2020, Disney Books published a young adult novel continuing the series written by Sam Maggs, titled ''The Unstoppable Wasp: Built On Hope''. Critics have praised the series for its comedy as well as its portrayal of relationships and bipolar disorder. Jocasta
In Greek mythology, Jocasta (), also rendered Iocaste ( grc, Ἰοκάστη ) and also known as Epicaste (; ), was a daughter of Menoeceus, a descendant of the Spartoi Echion, and queen consort of Thebes. She was the wife of first Laius, then of their son Oedipus, and both mother and grandmother of Antigone, Eteocles, Polynices and Ismene. She was also sister of Creon and mother-in-law of Haimon. Life After his abduction and rape of Chrysippus, Laius married Jocasta. Korvac is the name of a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appears in '' Giant-Size Defenders'' #3 (Jan. 1975) and was created by Steve Gerber and Jim Starlin.
