Joanne Gilbert
Joanne Gilbert (born July 17, 1932) is an American television and film actress. Biography Gilbert was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Hollywood, California. She is the daughter of American lyricist Ray Gilbert who is best known for writing the lyrics of the song ''Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah''. She pursued an unsuccessful career as a fashion model in New York City, and then moved back to California, performing as a nightclub singer before becoming a film actress. Her movies include '' Red Garters'' starring Rosemary Clooney and Jack Carson, and '' The Great Man''. Her last film performance was in 1958. She worked much of the next decade in TV dramas. She has been married to Edward Louis Rissien and actor/producer Danny Arnold, and is the step-daughter of actress Janis Paige. Danny Arnold
Danny Arnold (born Arnold Rothmann; January 23, 1925 – August 19, 1995) was an American producer, writer, comedian, actor and director known for producing ''Barney Miller'', ''That Girl'', and ''Bewitched''. Early life Born in New York City, Arnold started his career acting in summer stock and doing comedy in vaudeville. During World War II, he served in the United States Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He later moved to Hollywood to continue a career in show business. Career Arnold appeared in films as an actor opposite the comic duo Martin and Lewis, and also wrote the screenplay for the Martin and Lewis vehicle ''The Caddy'' (1953). In 1956, Arnold started writing for such television series as ''The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show'' and ''The Rosemary Clooney Show''. ''Ben Casey'' is an American medical drama series that aired on ABC from 1961 to 1966. The show was known for its opening titles, which consisted of a hand drawing the symbols " ♂, ♀, ✳, †, ∞" on a chalkboard, as cast member Sam Jaffe uttered, "Man, woman, birth, death, infinity." Neurosurgeon Joseph Ransohoff served as a medical consultant for the show. ''Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre'' is an American Western anthology television series that was broadcast on CBS from October 5, 1956, until September 20, 1962. Format Many episodes were based on novels by Zane Grey, to all of which Four Star Films held exclusive rights. Dick Powell was the host and the star of some episodes. Many of the guest stars made their TV debuts on the program. Powell said that working with Grey's stories proved to be both a benefit and a challenge. While he spoke of "the vast output of wonderful action stories from Zane Grey's pen", he acknowledged the challenge of "trying to compress a novel into half an hour of storytelling on television."
