Joana Nnazua Kolo
Joana Nnazua Kolo (born 1993) is a humanitarian and the youngest serving Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Nigeria's Kwara State. At 26, she is believed to be the youngest commissioner in the history of Nigeria. She was a 2018 graduate of Library Science of Kwara State University, Kwara State. Joana Nnazua was nominated two weeks before the completion of her National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) program in early October 2019, in Jigawa State, where she taught at Model Boarding Junior Secondary School Guri. Kwara State
Kwara State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Kwárà), is a state in Western Nigeria, bordered to the east by Kogi State, to the north by Niger state, and to the south by Ekiti, Osun, and Oyo states, while its western border makes up part of the international border with Benin Republic. Kwara State University, also known as KWASU, is a state owned university located in Malete, Kwara State, Nigeria. It is the 77th university to be registered by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), and the 95th university to be recognized in Nigeria. The university was established by the administration of Dr. Bukola Saraki in 2009, and envisioned to be more than a typical university in Nigeria. National Youth Service Corps
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program set up by the Nigerian government during the military regime to involve Nigerian graduates in nation-building and the development of the country. There is no military conscription in Nigeria, but since 1973 graduates of universities and later polytechnics have been required to take part in the National Youth Service Corps program for one year. This is known as national service year. Ahmadu Ali served as the first Director-General of the NYSC until 1975. The incumbent Director-General is Mohammed Kaku Fadah. Major General Suleiman Kazaure was appointed director general of the NYSC on 18 April 2016, and served as the 17th DG of the scheme until his redeployment to the Nigerian Army Resource Centre on 26 April 2019.
