Joan Peñarroya
Joan Peñarroya Rodríguez (born 20 April 1969) is a Spanish retired basketball player and current head coach of Baskonia of the Spanish Liga ACB. Coaching career Peñarroya started his coaching career as assistant coach with CB Olesa of the Liga EBA. In 2010, he signed with BC Andorra of the LEB Plata. Peñarroya led the team to a promotion to the LEB Oro and later to the Liga ACB. He also coached in the EuroCup with Andorra. In the 2018–19 season, Peñarroya coached Bàsquet Manresa, leading the team to the ACB playoffs for the first time since 1998. In July 2019, Peñarroya signed as new head coach of San Pablo Burgos. In October 2020, he won the 2019–20 Basketball Champions League with Burgos, the club's first championship ever. The next season, he led his team to a repeat of the Champions League while also capturing the 2021 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. On June 21, 2021, he has signed with Valencia Basket of the Liga ACB. Liga EBA
Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. 2011–12 LEB Plata Season
The 2011–12 LEB Plata season is the 12th season of the LEB Plata, second league of the Liga Española de Baloncesto and third division in Spain. It is also named Adecco Plata for sponsorship reasons. Competition format Teams will play a regular season of 26 weeks with a Round-robin tournament format. This regular season will start on October 8 and will finish on April 20. The regular season champion will promote directly to LEB Oro and the last qualified will be relegated to Liga EBA. Teams qualified from second to ninth will join the promotion playoffs.
