Jiří Skalák
Jiří Skalák (born 12 March 1992) is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a winger for Czech First League side Mladá Boleslav. He has represented the Czech Republic internationally at youth levels U16 through U21. Club career Early career Skalák started his professional career at AC Sparta Prague, spending time on loan at MFK Ružomberok, 1. FC Slovácko, FC Zbrojovka Brno and FK Mladá Boleslav before moving to Mladá Boleslav permanently in 2015. Brighton & Hove Albion Skalák joined Football League Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion on 1 February 2016 for an undisclosed fee, believed to be £1.2 million. Czech First League
The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. The 2013–14 Czech First League, known as the Gambrinus liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 21st season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. The season began on 19 July 2013 and ended on 31 May 2014. Sparta Prague won their 36th title on 4 May 2014, after defending champions Plzeň drew against Jablonec. They ended the season with a Czech league record of 79 points out of a possible 90, winning all of their home games, and losing only one away game and drawing a further four. 2012–13 Czech First League
The 2012–13 Czech First League, known as the Gambrinus liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 20th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. The defending champions were Liberec, who won their third Czech First League title the previous season. A number of games were postponed due to adverse weather conditions. On 18 March the game between Jihlava and Mladá Boleslav was postponed due to heavy snow. A second game was postponed, before, on 10 May 2013, the match between Dukla Prague and Brno became the third match to be postponed, this time due to a waterlogged pitch. The Czech National Football League ( cs, Fotbalová národní liga, ''FNL''), currently known as Fortuna národní liga due to sponsorship reasons, is the second level professional association football league in the Czech Republic. Before 2013 it was known as 2. liga or Druhá liga. The top two teams each season are eligible for promotion to the Czech First League. The league replaced the I.ČNL (I. UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifying Group A
The UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group A was one of the nine groups to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 2016 finals tournament. Group A consisted of six teams: Netherlands, Czech Republic, Turkey, Latvia, Iceland, and Kazakhstan, where they played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The top two teams, Czech Republic and Iceland, qualified directly for the finals. Kazakhstan’s win over Latvia on the final day of matches, also allowed Turkey to qualify directly as the best ranked third-placed team of the qualifiers. The Latvia national football team ( lv, Latvijas futbola izlase) represents Latvia in international football and is controlled by the Latvian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Latvia.
