Jiřina Bohdalová
Jiřina Bohdalová (born 3 May 1931 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic) is a Czech actress. Career She began acting in theatre and film at an early age. She was accepted to The Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) at her third attempt. She received an offer from Jan Werich to join the actor's troupe at Divadlo ABC theatre which she accepted. Later on, she performed in many other “City Theatres of Prague” (Městská divadla pražská). From 1967 to the present day she has a permanent engagement at the “Vinohrady Theatre”. Jiřina Steimarová (24 January 1916, Prague, Austria-Hungary – 7 October 2007, Prague, Czech Republic) was a Czech film and television actress. Steimarová made her screen debut in the controversial 1933 Hedy Lamarr film '' Ecstasy''. She appeared in nearly 40 films and TV shows during her career. Family Her parents were both actors. She was also the mother of actress Evelýna Steimarová and actor Jiří Kodet. Jiří Kodet, an award winning actor, predeceased his mother, dying from cancer in 2005. Death Jiřina Steimarová died on 7 October 2007, aged 91. Jiřina Štěpničková
Jiřina Štěpničková (3 April 1912 – 5 September 1985) was a Czech actress. She spent 10 years in prison for an attempt to illegally cross a border. Life Jiřina Julie Štěpničková was born on 3 April 1912 in Prague. She started acting at age 16 when her high school professor Jindřich Honzl brought her to Liberated Theatre. In 1930 she was already acting in the National Theatre. From 1936 to 1951 she was acting in the Vinohrady Theatre. In the 1930s and 1940s she was a lead actress in many Czechoslovak movies. In 1951, she decided to emigrate after receiving a letter allegedly from František Čáp inviting her to West Germany. However the letter was planted by secret service. She was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Her son was sent to a children's home. Jiřina Kudličková, née Ptáčníková (; born 20 May 1986) is a former Czech pole vaulter. She won the 2012 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki and the 2014 World Indoor Championships. Biography She is the daughter of the Czech sprinter František Ptáčník. Ptáčníková achieved a personal best (indoor) of 4.70 metres in Donetsk in 2012. This was a Czech record. She improved to 4.71 m in 2014, which was also a Czech record. She also achieved outdoor personal best of 4.76 metres in Plzeň in September 2013. Jiřina Švorcová (May 25, 1928 – August 8, 2011) was a Czech actress and pro-Communist activist. Her acting career lasted more than forty years, but she largely retired after the 1989 Velvet Revolution and devoted herself to advocacy of the Communist Party. Švorcová worked in television, theater and film during the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. She spent more than forty years at the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague. Her best known work came during the 1970s in the Czechoslovak television series, ''Žena za pultem'' or ''A Woman Behind the Counter''. Jiřina Šejbalová (17 September 1905–23 August 1981) was a Czech actress of the stage, television, and film. For many years she taught theatre classes at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. Born in Prague, Šejbalová came from a family of clerks. After studying at the Prague Conservatory, she began her career as an opera singer at the National Theatre in Brno in the mid-1920s. During the 1927-1928 season she abandoned her opera career and began working as a dramatic actress at that house in avant-garde plays directed by Jiří Frejka. Pole vaulting, also known as pole jumping, is a track and field event in which an athlete uses a long and flexible pole, usually made from fiberglass or carbon fiber, as an aid to jump over a bar. Jiřina Hauková (January 27, 1919, Přerov – December 15, 2005) was a Czech poet and translator. She was a member of the Group 42 (Skupina 42), together with her husband Jindřich Chalupecký. Biography Having graduated from a grammar school in 1939, she started to study philosophy in Brno, where she stayed until the Nazi occupants closed all universities. After that she worked as an editor in ''Obzor'' (''The Horizon'') in Přerov. She finished her studies in 1949 at the Charles University in Prague.
