Jitex BK, more commonly known as just ''Jitex'', is a football club in Mölndal, Sweden, that competes in Elitettan, the second tier of Swedish women's football. The club was founded January 21, 1971 and previously played in the Elitettan, Sweden's second highest division, and the top division league, the Damallsvenskan. Jitex won six national championships and three victories in the Swedish Cup during the 1970s and 1980s. The Jitex name came from the first sponsor; Jitex fashion house. The team which has become known for their characteristic purple kit, was first trained by Sven Lundbeck. Notable players during this successful era include Anette Börjesson, Elisabeth Leidinge, Anna Svenjeby and Pia Sundhage. Financial problems in the early 1990s saw a 1993 merger with local rivals GAIS (Göteborgs Atlet-och Idrottssällskap or Gothenburg Athletics and Sports Association in English) and the adoption of the name Jitex BK/JG93. The team stumbled out of the Damallsvenskan in 1997. ...

Mölndal () is the seat and administrative centre of Mölndal Municipality, located just south of Gothenburg on the west-coast of Sweden. Division 1 ( sv, Division 1 i fotboll för damer) is the third level in the league system of Swedish women's football and has six sections with 12 football teams in each. From 1978 to 1987, when the Damallsvenskan was created, it was the highest level of football in Sweden. Until 2013, when the Elitettan was created, it was the second highest level. Damallsvenskan Teams
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Pia Sundhage
Pia Mariane Sundhage (, born 13 February 1960) is a Swedish football manager and former professional player. She is the head coach of the Brazil women's national team. As a player, Sundhage played most of her career as a forward and retired as the top scorer for the Sweden national team, but she also had stints playing as a midfielder and a sweeper. Sundhage was the head coach of the United States women's national team from 2008 to 2012 and led the team to two Olympic gold medals and a silver medal at the World Cup. Her success led to her winning the 2012 FIFA World Coach of the Year. Sundhage later became the head coach of her native Sweden women's national football team from 2012 to 2017, winning an Olympic silver medal in 2016. Anna Svenjeby
Anna Svenjeby (born 26 April 1962) is a Swedish retired football player who played as a midfielder for Kronängs IF and Jitex BK in the Swedish Championship in the late 1970s and 1980s. She won the first edition of the ''Årets Fotbollstjej Award'', the forerunner of the Diamantbollen, in 1980, and she was a member of the Swedish national team that won the 1984 European Championship. Club career While playing for Kronängs IF in 1980, aged 18, Svenjeby won the Årets Fotbollstjej award for the best female footballer in Sweden. In 1984 she helped Jitex BK win a league and cup double.
