Jinnah Sindh Medical University
Jinnah Sindh Medical University (), formerly known as ''Sindh Medical College'', is a medical university in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It gained university status in June 2012. History Jinnah Sindh Medical University, formerly known as Sindh Medical College, started on April 7, 1973 after approval of a committee constituted by the Government of Sindh. Approximately 200 students were admitted to their first year of a MBBS in 1973. Khawaja Moin Ahmed was appointed as the first principal of the college. The college initially began working in the pediatrics ward of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, which had been the army barracks since 1865 and was given to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in 1959. Affiliations The university is fully accredited by the Higher Education Commission and the University Grants Commission (Pakistan). Asim Shahmalak
Dr Asim Shahmalak (born 2 April 1961) is a British hair transplant surgeon, broadcaster, and proponent of such surgery. He performed the UK's first eyelash transplant in 2009, and has treated a number of British celebrity patients. Shahmalak began his career as a general surgeon in the Republic of Ireland in 1990, he joined the National Health Service (NHS) as a specialist doctor in general surgery in 2001, practising until 2011 when he dedicated himself full-time to private hair transplant surgery at his own Crown Clinic. Shaista Lodhi ( ur, ) is a Pakistani television host, and actress. Early life and education Lodhi was born in Karachi on 26 November 1977 to Ali Gohar Lodhi and Roshan Taj Lodhi. She grew up in a family with three brothers (Amir Lodhi, Tahir Lodhi and Sahir Lodhi). In 2000, she completed her MBBS from Jinnah Sindh Medical University. Imran Farooq ( ur, ; 14 June 1960 – 16 September 2010) was a British-Pakistani politician who was best known for his association with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a political party in Pakistan, of which he was a very senior member. He was also a founding member of the All Pakistan Muhajir Student Organization. Farooq held several positions in MQM and the Pakistani government.
