Jimmy Walsh (American Boxer)
Jimmy Walsh (July 18, 1883 – November 23, 1964) was an American boxer who claimed the World Bantamweight Championship on March 29, 1905, when he defeated Monte Attell, in a controversial six-round bout at the National Athletic Club in Philadelphia. His claim was recognized by the World Boxing Association, at the time the National Boxing Association. The fight ended in a disqualification called by the referee when Walsh sent a low right hook that landed below the belt of Attell. ''The Alphabet Killer'' is a 2008 thriller- horror film, loosely based on the Alphabet murders that took place in Rochester, New York between 1971 and 1973. James W. Walsh (born 1964) is a Republican member of the Washington State House of Representatives. Walsh attended Amherst College, graduating cum laude in 1986. He was the leading authority on early recording artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and their techniques, especially through his columns written between the 1920s and 1980s, most notably for ''Hobbies'' magazine. He represented Conception Bay East – Bell Island in the Newfoundland House of Assembly from 1989 to 2003. He was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. James Charles Walsh (September 22, 1885 – July 3, 1962) was an Irish professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1912 through 1917 for the Philadelphia Athletics (1912–13, 1914–16), New York Yankees (1914) and Boston Red Sox (1916–17). Jimmy Walsh (1 January 1913 – 1 January 1964) was a British boxer who was British lightweight champion between 1936 and 1938. He should not be confused with the American World Bantamweight Champion, Jimmy Walsh. Career Born in Chester, Walsh made his professional debut in January 1931, a win over Young Curley at Wrexham. After winning his first three fights he suffered his first loss to Frankie Brown in December 1931, losing on points over 10 rounds. Five straight wins followed in 1932, including a points win over Joe Baldersara.
