James Patrick Rayner (31 March 1935 – 5 January 2009) was an English footballer, who played for a number of clubs in the English lower leagues. Cornsay
Cornsay is a hamlet and civil parish in County Durham, England. The population of the Civil Parish taken at the 2011 census was 1,128. It is southeast of Consett and southwest of Durham. It consists of nineteen dwellings, including four farms & is the home of Greenacres nudist club. All formerly belonged to Ushaw College for the training of Catholic priests, hence the organised nomenclature. East and West Farms are now in private hands as homes but the other two are still active, South Farm run by the Suddes family and North Farm by the Tweddle family. On the village green is the enigmatic ‘draw well’: at first look a bus shelter but on closer inspection a building with a 17th-century dedication. It was once the main source of water for the village and later a site for the sale of paraffin at a time when the village was larger. Football League Division Four
The Football League Fourth Division was the fourth-highest division in the English football league system from the 1958–59 season until the creation of the Premier League prior to the 1992–93 season. Whilst the division disappeared in name in 1992, the 4th tier of English football continued as the Football League Third Division, and later became known as Football League Two. History The Fourth Division was created in 1958 alongside a new Third Division by merging the regionalised Third Division North and Third Division South. The original economic reasons for having the two regional leagues had become less apparent and thus it was decided to create two national leagues at levels three and four. North East England is one of nine official regions of England at the first level of ITL for statistical purposes. The region has three current administrative levels below the region level in the region; combined authority, unitary authority or metropolitan district and civil parishes. Midland Football League (1889)
The Midland Football League was a semi-professional football league in England. It acted as a feeder league to the Football League for many years before merging with the Yorkshire League in 1982 to form the Northern Counties East League. History Founded in 1889, only one year after the Football League, the Midland League was the second league for professional clubs to be formed. Eleven clubs participated in the first season, 1889–90, four of whom (including the first champions, Lincoln City) would go on to achieve Football League status. The eleven founder members came from six counties. In the early days of the Midland League, a number of the champion clubs were elected to the Football League, and in return, League clubs who failed to be re-elected were often placed in the Midland League.
