Jimmy Leawood Martin (born August 24, 1934) is an American former politician in the state of South Carolina. He served in the South Carolina Senate as a member of the Democratic Party from 1972 to 1976 and in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1969 to 1970, representing Richland County, South Carolina. The South Carolina House of Representatives is the lower house of the South Carolina General Assembly. It consists of 124 representatives elected to two-year terms at the same time as U.S. congressional elections. Unlike many legislatures, seating on the floor is not divided by party, but is arranged by county delegation – a legacy of the original apportionment of the chamber. It consists of 46 senators elected from single member districts for four-year terms at the same time as United States presidential elections. Aynor is a small town in Horry County, South Carolina, United States, south of Galivants Ferry. The population was 560 at the 2010 census and estimated in 2018 to be 934. Aynor High School consistently ranks as one of the best schools in Horry County and South Carolina.
