Jimmy John's Field
Jimmy John's Field is a baseball field in Utica, Michigan, home to four teams that play in the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL), an independent baseball league. It opened on May 30, 2016. Naming rights were purchased by Jimmy John's, a sandwich restaurant chain. History The ballpark is located in downtown Utica, just over twenty miles north of Detroit. Jimmy John's Field is owned by General Sports Entertainment (GSE); however, Utica's Downtown Development Authority will own the land it sits on and lease it to them for $1 per year for 30 years. The property was the site of a capped brownfield landfill that served as an unlicensed dump for household waste, that sat vacant the last 80 years. General Sports created the USPBL. Clinton River
The Clinton River is a river in southeastern Michigan in the United States. It is named in honor of DeWitt Clinton, who was governor of New York from 1817 to 1823. The main branch of the river rises from wetlands and coldwater tributaries from within Independence, Brandon and Springfield Townships. A series of dams create a number of small lakes west of Pontiac, the last of which is Crystal Lake. The river is piped under downtown Pontiac, re-emerging to the east of downtown. Utica, Michigan
Utica is a city in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,757 at the 2010 census. History The city now known as Utica was platted by Joseph Stead in 1817, who preferred to call it "Harlow."
