Jimmy Hill
James William Thomas Hill, OBE (22 July 1928 – 19 December 2015) was an English footballer and later a television personality. His career included almost every role in the sport, including player, trade union leader, coach, manager, director, chairman, television executive, presenter, pundit, analyst and assistant referee. He began his playing career at Brentford in 1949, and moved to Fulham three years later. As chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association, he successfully campaigned for an end to The Football League's maximum wage in 1961. After retiring as a player, he took over as manager of Coventry City, modernising the team's image and guiding them from the Third to the First Division. In 1967, he began a career in football broadcasting, and from 1973 to 1988 was host of the BBC's ''Match of the Day''. Jimmy Hill (footballer, Born 1935)
Matthew James Hill (born 31 October 1935) is a Northern Irish former footballer and manager. A winger, he scored 66 goals in 242 league appearances in an 11-year career in the Football League. He also won seven caps for Northern Ireland. He played for Carrick Rangers and then Linfield, winning three Irish League titles before joining English club Newcastle United in 1957. Two years later he moved on to Norwich City, and helped the "Canaries" to win promotion out of the Third Division in 1959–60 and then to lift the League Cup in 1962. He was transferred to Everton for a £25,000 fee in 1963, but struggled with injury before being moved on to Port Vale for a £5,000 fee in October 1965. He left the club in January 1968 to become player-manager at Derry City. As a manager, he led Derry to second in the league in 1968–69 and to the 1971 Irish Cup final. Jimmy Hill (July 22, 1928 – August 29, 2006) was an American football player. Nicknamed "Iron Claw", Hill played for the Chicago Cardinals (NFL, 1920–59), Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals (NFL), St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He ended his professional career with the American Football League's Kansas City Chiefs in their AFL championship year of 1966 Kansas City Chiefs season, 1966.
