Jim Troughton
Jamie Oliver Troughton (born 2 March 1979) is an English cricket coach and former cricketer. He is currently Assistant Coach at Surrey, and as a player was mainly an attack-minded left-handed batsman and an occasional slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played for (and captained) Warwickshire. He also played for the England one day international team. Family and acting Troughton was born into a well-known British acting family. He is the son of the stage and television actor David Troughton, who is a leading member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the nephew of Michael Troughton. His grandfather, Patrick Troughton, was best known for playing the Second Doctor in ''Doctor Who''. He is also the younger brother of ''Robin Hood'' actor Sam Troughton and the cousin of Harry Melling, who appeared in the ''Harry Potter'' films. The London Borough of Camden () is a London borough in Inner London. Camden Town Hall, on Euston Road, lies north of Charing Cross. Yorkshire County Cricket Club is one of 18 first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Yorkshire. Yorkshire are the most successful team in English cricketing history with 33 County Championship titles, including one shared. Gareth Batty
Gareth Jon Batty (born 13 October 1977) is an English former cricketer who is best known as a spin-bowler. He has represented England in all formats and was the captain of Surrey County Cricket Club between 2015 and 2017. In October 2021, Batty retired from playing cricket and became a member of the coaching team at Surrey. He is the younger brother of former Yorkshire and Somerset off-spinner Jeremy Batty. NBC Denis Compton Award
The NBC Denis Compton Award was an annual award given to 'The Most Promising Young Player' at each of the 18 first-class counties in England and Wales. The award was made between 1996 and 2011. A player may receive the award more than once. History The award was born in 1996 when Neil Burns, the former Somerset wicket-keeper-batsman, and now a director of NBC Sports Management Ltd, met Denis Compton while playing for Sir Paul Getty's XI. Burns put forward his ideas for a structured programme that would see promising young English players sent for coaching in South Africa during the English winter.
