Jim Tolson
James "Jim" Tolson (born 26 May 1965) is a Scottish Liberal Democrat politician, and a former Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Dunfermline West from 2007 until 2011. Prior to his election as an MSP, he was a Fife councillor and employee of Sky Subscriber Services Ltd in Dunfermline. In 2005, Tolson won a case against Sky at an employment tribunal seeking more time off to carry out council duties. Dunfermline West (Scottish Parliament Constituency)
Dunfermline West was a constituency of the Scottish Parliament ( Holyrood). It elected one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the plurality (first past the post) method of election. From the 2011 Scottish Parliament election, parts of the Dunfermline East constituency were merged with Dunfermline West to form a single Dunfermline constituency. Electoral region The region covers all of the Clackmannanshire council area, all of the Fife council area, all of the Perth and Kinross council area, all of the Stirling council area and parts of the Angus council area. Constituency boundaries and council area The constituency was created at the same time as the Scottish Parliament, in 1999, with the name and boundaries of a pre-existing Westminster (House of Commons) constituency. This is a list of members (MSPs) returned to the third Scottish Parliament at the 2007 Scottish Parliament election. Of the 129 MSPs, 73 were elected from first past the post constituencies with a further 56 members being returned from eight regions, each electing seven MSPs as a form of mixed member proportional representation. The 2007 Scottish Parliament election produced another hung parliament which saw the Scottish National Party replace Scottish Labour as the largest party group in the Parliament. Dunfermline (Gaelic: ''Dùn Phàrlain'') is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament ( Holyrood) covering part of the council area of Fife. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the plurality (first past the post) method of election. It is one of nine constituencies in the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to the nine constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole. Created in 2011, it comprises parts of the former constituencies of Dunfermline East and Dunfermline West. Bill Walker narrowly won the seat for the Scottish National Party in 2011, however he resigned after being convicted of assault charges in 2013. Scott Barrie
Scott Barrie (born 10 March 1962, St Andrews) is a Scottish Labour Party politician and former social worker. He was the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Dunfermline West from 1999 to 2007, where he was a member of the Communities Committees of the Parliament. Prior to being elected to the Scottish Parliament, Scott was employed by Fife Council in the social work department. He also represented the Dunfermline Central ward on Dunfermline District Council. Scott is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh (MA), the University of Stirling (CQSW) and the University of Dundee (Diploma in Child Protection Studies). The 2011 Scottish Parliament election was held on Thursday, 5 May 2011 to Members of the 4th Scottish Parliament, elect 129 members to the Scottish Parliament.
