Jim Ralph
Jim Ralph (born May 13, 1962) is a media personality and retired professional hockey player from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. From 1978 to 1989, he played for numerous Ontario Hockey League and American Hockey League teams, including the Ottawa 67s, the Springfield Indians, and the Newmarket Saints. While playing for the 67's, Ralph started his broadcasting career as a summer fill in announcer on CHAS-FM in the Sault. Ralph was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks, 162nd overall, in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. After a serious knee injury, he turned to broadcasting. Ralph was the colour commentator of the Toronto Maple Leafs on AM640 Toronto Radio from 1997 to 2012, and on Sportsnet 590 The Fan and TSN 1050 since 2013. CFIQ (640 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Richmond Hill, Ontario, and serving Greater Toronto. The station airs a talk format and is known as ''640 Toronto''. It is owned by Corus Entertainment with radio studios and offices in the Corus Quay Building at 25 Dockside Drive in Toronto. CFIQ is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for Canadian AM stations. To protect other stations on 640 AM, it must use a directional antenna. Although it is licensed to a suburban community north of the city, its transmitter is about 60 kilometers (38 miles) south of Toronto. Dan Dunleavy (born September 27, 1965) is a Canadian sportscaster for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. He was formerly a sportscaster with Sportsnet 590 The Fan, and Rogers Sportsnet. Career Hockey Dunleavy is currently the play by play voice for the Buffalo Sabres on MSG Western New York and WGR 550 radio in Buffalo. From 2016 until 2022, Dunleavy rotated with Hall of Fame announcer Rick Jeanneret, who was to retire after the 2016-17 season. Rick changed his mind about retiring despite the agreement he and the Sabres signed with Dunleavy, leaving Dunleavy to work on a year by year time table with the hope of eventually taking over as was offered by the NHL franchise. Dennis Beyak is a former Canadian hockey play-by-play broadcaster from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was TSN's play-by-play announcer for Winnipeg Jets games through to the end of the 2021-22 NHL season. Broadcasting career Beyak began his broadcasting career in 1970 at CFAR as a play-by-play announcer for the Flin Flon Bombers of the Western Canada Hockey League. Beyak has also provided commentary for the WHL's Saskatoon Blades, Victoria Cougars, and Seattle Thunderbirds.
