Jim Mallan
James Mallan (25 January 1924 – 27 May 1969) was a Scottish footballer who played for Celtic and St Mirren as a defender. Career Having joined Celtic as a teenager, his time at the club coincided with one of the poorest eras in their history in terms of performances and trophies. He did win the Glasgow Cup in 1948–49, and had also featured regularly for four seasons during World War II which are not counted as official matches. At the end of that period he was sent off in a controversial 1946 Victory Cup match against Rangers which led to a lengthy suspension from the Scottish Football Association, so he was not able to make his Scottish Football League debut until December 1946. He was selected for the Scottish League XI once, in 1949, but was criticised for his performance in a 3–0 defeat to the Football League XI, which he felt was unjust. Stephen Patrick Mallan (born 25 March 1996) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Salford City. Mallan has previously played for St Mirren, Barnsley, Hibernian, and Yeni Malatyaspor. He has also represented Scotland in under-21 internationals. Club career St Mirren Born in Glasgow, he was included in St Mirren's matchday squad for the first time on 18 October 2014, remaining on the substitutes' bench as they lost 0–1 at home against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premiership. On 8 November, he was again unused as they lost by the same score against Partick Thistle, again at St Mirren Park. 2010–11 Scottish Junior Cup
The 2010–11 Scottish Junior Cup was the 125th season of the Scottish Junior Cup, the national knockout tournament for member clubs of the Scottish Junior Football Association. The competition is sponsored by Emirates and is known as The Emirates Junior Cup for sponsorship purposes. Auchinleck Talbot won the competition for a record ninth time, defeating Musselburgh Athletic 2–1 after extra-time. Under a 2007 rule change, the Junior Cup winners (along with winners of the North, East and West regional leagues) qualify for the senior Scottish Cup; Auchinleck Talbot therefore competed in the 2011–12 Scottish Cup. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. Other league and cup competitions are organised by regional committees. The association headquarters are at Hampden Park, Glasgow, which is Scotland's national football stadium. Stephen Mallan (born 30 August 1967) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a striker, mainly for Queen of the South. Mallan's other clubs included Clyde, Arbroath, Stirling Albion, Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton. Playing career Born in Glasgow, Mallan did not play for any club in his teenage years and started his career in Scottish Junior football with Kirkintilloch Rob Roy at the age of 20, before joining the senior ranks with Clyde for the start of the 1989–90 season. Mallan then joined Dumfries club Queen of the South at the start of the 1993–94 season. In his time at the ''Doonhamers'' Mallan scored 94 goals and is the eighth highest goalscorer in the club's history. This tally includes 82 league goals in his 232 league appearances. Johnstone Burgh Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, and play in . History The club were formed in 1956, in response to an article in the "Johnstone & Linwood Gazette" newspaper from a journalist that had been ordered out of the newspaper's office on the corner of Johnstone's Rankine Street by the office manager with instructions not to return until he had a story. The journalist proceeded to ask locals what they thought about forming a new football club to replace the former Scottish league side Johnstone F.C. Their most successful period was in the late 1950s and 1960s when they twice won junior football's top prize – the Scottish Junior Cup. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries. Fans held a collection for Stephenson, and presented him with a hat bought with the proceeds. The term was used in print for the first time in 1865 in the ''Chelmsford Chronicle''.
