Jim Horne (Florida Politician)
Jim Horne (born January 20, 1959) is a former Florida State Senator and Florida Commissioner of Education. He is an accountant and has worked in the real estate and consulting businesses. He resigned as Commissioner of Education in 2004. Horne served in the Florida Legislature from 1995 to 2001 and was chairman of the Senate committee that handles the state budget. The Florida Senate is the upper house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida House of Representatives being the lower house. It is headquartered in the Turlington Building (named for former education commissioner Ralph Turlington) in Tallahassee. Orange Park, Florida
Orange Park is a town in Clay County, Florida, United States. It is a suburb of Jacksonville, in neighboring Duval County. The population was 8,412 at the 2010 census. The name "Orange Park" is additionally applied to a wider area of northern Clay County outside the town limits, covering such communities as Fleming Island, Lakeside, Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace and Oakleaf Plantation. The town's name reflects the hope of its founders for a fruit-growing industry, but their crops were destroyed in the Great Freeze of 1894–1895. Despite recovery elsewhere, the crops never came back to Orange Park. History Orange Park in the late 18th century was known simply as Laurel Grove. The Florida Channel is a government-access television network operated by Florida State University's WFSU-TV and the Florida State Legislature. The channel is currently carried by 46 cable TV systems throughout the State of Florida either on a part-time or full-time basis as well as through up to 18 live Internet streams and via satellite. Alexander Mann "Ander" Crenshaw (born September 1, 1944) is an American banker, attorney, and politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 2001 to 2017.
