Jim Burrow
James Arthur Burrow (born November 29, 1953), commonly known as Jimmy Burrow, is a former all-star defensive back in the Canadian Football League and the National Football League and retired college football coach. He is the father of Heisman Trophy winner and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the eighth round of the 1976 NFL Draft and played that season with the team. Following his time with the Packers, he played in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes, the Calgary Stampeders, and the Ottawa Rough Riders. Burrow's last coaching position was as defensive coordinator for Ohio University from 2005 until his retirement after the 2018 season. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. Return yards is a gridiron football statistical measure that takes several forms. In American and Canadian football, progress is measured by advancing the football towards the opposing team's goal line. 1976 NFL Draft
The 1976 National Football League draft was an annual player selection meeting held April 8–9, 1976, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, New York. The draft lasted 17 rounds, with the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks making the first two selections. Joe Burrow
Joseph Lee Burrow (born December 10, 1996) is an American football quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). Following a stint with Ohio State, Burrow played college football at LSU, where he won the Heisman Trophy and the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship as a senior.
