Jim Bonfanti
James Alexander Bonfanti (born December 17, 1948 in Windber, Pennsylvania) is a rock music, rock drummer who is best known for having been a member of the band Raspberries (band), Raspberries. Career Bonfanti's music career began in 1965 when he saw The Beatles on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'', which eventually led him to join a band called "The Mods", later renamed The Choir (garage rock), The Choir. Their recording of "It’s Cold Outside" reached the national charts in 1967. In 1970, Bonfanti, Wally Bryson, Dave Smalley (pop musician), Dave Smalley and Eric Carmen formed Raspberries. Together they produced four albums, eight singles, and a U.S. top ten and gold record for their major hit "Go All the Way (song), Go All the Way". Following two albums both released in 1972, creative tension came to a head sparked largely by Carmen's creative dominance over the contributions of fellow members. Windber is a borough in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, United States, about south of Johnstown. It was at one time a place of industrial activities which included coal mining, lumbering, and the manufacture of fire brick. In 1897, the community was founded by coal barons Charles and Edward Julius Berwind, owners of the Berwind Corporation; the name "Windber" simply switches the order of the two syllables in the family name "Berwind". 8,013 people lived in Windber in 1910 and 9,057 in 1940; the population was 3,930 at the 2020 census. "Go All the Way" is a single by American rock group Raspberries, released in July 1972 and written by frontman Eric Carmen. The song reached the Top 5 on three principal US charts: number 5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number 4 on '' Cashbox'' and number 3 on ''Record World''. The single sold more than 1.3 million copies, earning the band their only certified Gold Record. It was their second single release, their all-time biggest US hit, and appeared on their debut LP, ''Raspberries''. The Raspberries were an American pop rock band formed in 1970 from Cleveland, Ohio.
