Jim Bakkum
Jimmy Johannes Bakkum (born 10 August 1987) is a Dutch singer, actor, stage actor and television personality. Rising to nationwide fame after becoming runner-up in the first season of Dutch singing competition series '' Idols'', he has released five albums and made a career in musicals and film. In television, he appeared in a Dutch version of ''Dancing with the Stars'', which he won. Career As a child, Bakkum was encouraged to sing and act by his parents. He started a band with his older brother Danny and also performed in amateur theatre productions. In 2002, his brother suggested that he audition for the Dutch TV talent programme '' Idols''. He became the youngest contestant at 15 years of age. After coming second in the competition, he was signed by Wilde Productions and released his first single "Tell Her" in May 2003. Egmond-Binnen
Egmond-Binnen () is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Bergen, and lies about southwest of Alkmaar. History The village was first mentioned in 922 as Ekmunde. The etymology is unknown. The missionary Adalbert of Egmond founded a chapel near Egmond-Binnen and died there around 740. In 922, the Benedictine Egmond Abbey was founded at the location and a settlement developed around it. The abbey was plundered and partially destroyed in 1573. The loot was used to finance the founding of Leiden University. In 1789, the south tower collapsed, and the remainder was sold for demolition. The Dutch Reformed church was built in 1836 at the former north tower of the abbey. Between 1914 and 1956, the church was built and a tower was added. In 1933, a new monastery was built in Egmond-Binnen and elevated to abbey in 1950. Egmond-Binnen was home to 915 people in 1840. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. Barbara de Loor (born 26 May 1974) is a Dutch retired speed skater who was specialised in the middle long and longer distances, over 1000 to 5000 meters. De Loor will be known in history as a talented skater who often ended up just after the awarded medal positions, which already started in her junior years when she became 6th and 4th at the World Junior Championships in 1992 and 1993 respectively. A few years later after she made the step to the seniors she qualified for the All-around World Championships and finished there in 9th position.
