James Atkins (baseball)
James Curtis Atkins (March 10, 1921 – February 28, 2009) was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox in the and seasons. Listed at tall and , Atkins batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama. Atkins' pro career began in 1941 and was interrupted from 1942 to 1945 by his service as a United States Marine in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. In a two-season MLB career, Atkins posted a 0–1 record with a 3.60 ERA, two strikeouts, 15 hits allowed and 11 bases on balls in 15 innings of work in four appearances (one as a starter). In his lone start, on April 21, 1952, at Fenway Park against the Washington Senators, Atkins allowed three hits and two earned runs in innings. He also went two for three as a batter. But he surrendered five bases on balls and was the losing pitcher in a 3–2 Washington victory. Atkins won 145 games in the minor leagues, including one 19-win season ...

Galanthophile
A galanthophile is an enthusiastic collector and identifier of snowdrop (''Galanthus'') species and cultivars. Term The term galanthophile was probably coined by a noted British plantsman and garden writer E. A. Bowles (1865–1954), in a letter to his friend Oliver Wyatt, another keen collector of bulbs, whom he addressed as "Dear Galanthophil". Wyatt may have been the first to whom the term was applied, but he was by no means the first be one. Apart from Bowles himself, there had been keen snowdrop collectors since at least the mid-19th century. Many galanthophiles are recalled in names of snowdrop species or cultivars. James Atkins (artist)
James Atkins (born 1941) is an American artist known for his paintings of Philadelphia. Mainly self-taught, Atkins attended art classes at Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial art school in South Philadelphia. Atkins' work was included in the 2011 exhibition ''The Chemistry of Color: The Sorgenti Collection of Contemporary African-American Art'' at the Hudson River Museum. His work was also included in the 2015 exhibition '' We Speak: Black Artists in Philadelphia, 1920s–1970s'' at the Woodmere Art Museum. His work is in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is a museum and private art school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
